The laser
The laser used for keratopigmentation is the Femtosecond laser. This extremely sophisticated laser is well known to ophthalmic surgeons, as it has been used for refractive surgery (correction of myopia, presbyopia, hyperopia and astigmatism) for 30 years. It is extremely precise, enabling cuts to be made in milliseconds without affecting surrounding tissue.
During keratopigmentation, the surgeon creates an extremely fine circular tunnel to deposit the colored pigment.
Not all lasers are compatible for keratopigmentation. We use those of the Clinique de la Vision, which boasts a high-performance technical platform with the latest-generation lasers.
